These are excerpts from the Nacogdoches Daily Sentinel that made me laugh. I've only included the interesting bits. Enjoy a slice of small town Texas life...
From an article about the speech former president Bill Clinton made at the SFA campus yesterday....
Cory Moore stood proudly on the side of the Baker Patillo Student Center's Grand Ballroom with his homemade cardboard sign in hand.
"My mother always said if you're going to a rally, then make a sign," said the SFA senior, sporting a big grin after hearing former President Bill Clinton speak on behalf of his wife, presidential Democratic hopeful Hillary Clinton.
Moore's sign read "Legalize It".
(I'm glad men like Cory Moore exist, to spread our message to the political bigwigs, and I'm grateful that he didn't get stoned and forget about the rally. I'm sure he gave the Clintons some food for thought.)

"Walk in the park not as easy as it sounds"
AGGRAVATED ASSAULT/FAMILY VIOLENCE, 2100 block of Woden Road. Officers spoke to a man in the emergency room about an assault report.
The man said he was in Woden Park and was confronted by his wife about his infidelity. The man said they got into an argument and she swung a broken beer bottle at him, striking his arm and causing a large cut. The woman was not with him and he did not wish to press charges.
(Ladies in East Texas take care of business, and they will not take any shit.)

Excerpt from an obituary....
He worked as an iron worker for over 35 years and enjoyed his early years of retirement as a shrimp boat captain. He loved to fish in both salt and fresh water, enjoyed cable-splicing, welding, tap dancing, singing, (and) playing the accordion.
(He sounds like a real renaissance man. I hope my obit is half as awesome, but seeing as I don't tap dance, and I don't have a clue about cable-splicing, it probably won't be.)
